Some sad news: IndieWire reports that Tim Hetherington, the Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker who co-directed Restrepo with journalist Sebastian Junger, has been killed in Libya alongside Chris Hondros, a Pulitzer-Prize nominated war photographer. While the details of what happened are still unclear, Hetherington’s final tweet gives some indication of the situation that they were dealing with: “In besieged Libyan city of Misrata. Indiscriminate shelling by Qaddafi forces. No sign of NATO.”
