Watch 5 Minutes of 'Bridesmaids,' Decide Whether It's Worth Seeing

Here at Flavorpill, we’ve been ambivalent about Bridesmaids ever since the first time we heard about it. It is, after all, a wedding film produced by Judd Apatow, whose man-boy slapstick is getting kind of old. On the other hand, not all matrimonial movies are terrible, and Bridesmaids stars two of our favorite SNL ladies, Kristen Wiig (who also co-wrote the screenplay) and Maya Rudolph.

Perhaps sensing our confusion over whether this is going to be a great or terrible movie, Universal has posted seven short clips from Bridesmaids, totaling about five minutes. On the whole, they’re encouraging. While some feel out of context, we love the diner conversation that establishes an easy rapport between Wiig’s Annie and Rudolph’s Lillian, and the raunchier cuts reassure us that this ain’t no 27 Dresses. Even the glimpse of Annie’s potential romance looks promising. Watch the clips after the jump and tell us whether they make you more or less likely to see Bridesmaids.

“I don’t need dental work.”

“I cracked a blanket in half.”

“You got food poisoning from that restaurant.”

“People’d win prizes for guessing the bride’s weight.”

“I’m not an air martial. I’m gonna take a nap.”

“Every girl needs those slutty college years.”

“I’m ready to parrrrrrrrrrtyyyyyyy with the best of ’em.”
