Meet New York City's Next Generation of Taxis

Thanks to features like “interior legroom” and “durability” this minivan from Nissan has been selected as the winning design out of three finalists in the “Taxi of Tomorrow” competition, beating out Ford and Turkish carmaker Karsan. Along with bragging rights, this means the Japanese company will get a 10-year contract giving them exclusive right to make and sell yellow cabs. But as our friends over at ANIMAL point out, while they sound nice and all, there’s no guarantee that these taxis will have drivers who will agree to take you to Brooklyn.

Click through to check out an interior shot of the winning design, as well as the two cabs that didn’t make the cut, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
