Kokatu, who is live blogging Nintendo’s 2011 E3 press conference, just posted what they’re calling the first picture of the company’s new gaming console, the Wii U. They’ve also got an image of the controller that goes with it (which we find more impressive to look at than the console itself). There aren’t too many details about the Wii U at this point, but the system has been described as a cross between the original Wii and an iPhone — which sounds nice, but isn’t saying much. Oh well. At least now you know what people are going to be buying when they wake up at 3am to trample all over each other at Best Buy come Christmas 2012.
