What You Missed This Weekend

Editor’s note: Every Monday morning our internet-savvy friends over at BuzzFeed bring you up to speed with a post filled with links to some of their favorite items on the web that you might have missed over the weekend. Enjoy!

Chris Brown might have been the biggest winner at last night’s BET Awards, but what everyone will be talking about today is Cee-Lo Green’s sartorial tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Patti Labelle. That wig/bedazzled sweater combo really suits him…

The passage of marriage equality in the New York State Senate, just in time for NYC’s annual pride celebration, was one of the weekend’s biggest stories. We were even happier when we read that Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka, who have been engaged for some time, are planning to make it official now that they can get married in New York.

We were horrified to hear that Michael Bay destroyed 532 cars while filming Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which opens later this week. What makes it a little less egregious: the fact that they were all donated to the movie after suffering flood damage.

Notorious hacker group LulzSec announced an end to their cyber attacks with the following statement: “Our planned 50 day cruise has expired, and we must now sail into the distance, leaving behind – we hope – inspiration, fear, denial, happiness, approval, disapproval, mockery, embarrassment, thoughtfulness, jealousy, hate, even love. If anything, we hope we had a microscopic impact on someone, somewhere.”

And finally we pitted an established meme against one that’s hopefully gaining momentum. Which do you think has more potential to go viral?
