What does the Overlook Hotel from The Shining have to do with the work of MC Escher? According to an interesting theory put forth by Rob Ager, Stanley Kubrick may have borrowed some of the famed graphic artist’s spatial pattern concepts to help disorient his viewers with an impossible set design.
