David Lynch Interviews Eddie Vedder in ‘Pearl Jam Twenty’ Trailer

Next stop on the the Monsters of Grunge Nostalgia Tour: Pearl Jam Twenty, Cameron Crowe’s documentary-length acknowledgment that Eddie Vedder first croaked “Jeremy spoke in class today” two whole decades ago. The film debuts September 10th at the Toronto International Film Festival, in advance of its theatrical release ten days later and an October 21st American Masters slot. As far as we can tell from the trailer, it will be your typical compilation of concert footage, interviews with the band and their contemporaries, and goofy B-roll — sort of like an episode of Behind the Music for an act that hasn’t seen much melodrama. At least it opens with the endearingly strange David Lynch interviewing Eddie Vedder.
