Photo Essay: What It’s Like Always Being The Third Wheel

Share:

Stop us if this sounds familiar: You’ve been dating a girl for a few months, when it becomes apparent that her best friend has a standing invitation to brunch. Or things are going great with the guy who you’ve been seeing — only you wish that you were seeing a lot less of his roommate, who appears to be permanently attached to the couch. We’ve all encountered a third wheel at least once in our dating lives, and if we’re being completely honest, we’ve probably all been one before, too. Australian photographer Jackson Eaton explores the hilarity inherent in these “crowded” relationship moments in a series of photographs appropriately titled The Third Wheel, which we spotted over on MetaFilter. Click through to check out the project, and let us know in the comments which scenario you find the most cringe-worthy.
