According to this post on Exhibitionist, the fat lady has sung on GERARD MORTIER’s upcoming gig as general director of the New York City Opera.
“Gerard Mortier, who was going to be the man who saved and revived and reinvented the New York City Opera, will apparently become the man who couldn’t work with the New York City Opera’s increasingly pressed resources.”
