We recently brought you news about Leonard Cohen’s new album — the first one he’s graced us with since 2004. The songmaker recently accepted the Glenn Gould Prize at Spain’s Prince of Asurias awards ceremony, during which he gave a wonderful speech about how he “got his song.” The story is poetic, moving, and has a direct connection to Spain and one of the first guitars Cohen ever owned. “I had a voice, but I did not have an instrument. I did not have a song,” he told the audience. Past the break, watch and listen to Cohen’s eleven-minute talk — an intimate view into the life of the incredible singer-songwriter.
