Absolutely Fabulous fans are already waiting with bated breath for the three new TV specials that will air in early 2012. But it looks like that isn’t the only great news creator/star in store for admirers of Eddy and Pats, who have been MIA since 2005. Yes, folks, it is happening: Jennifer Saunders is writing AbFab: The Movie! According to Deadline, the film “will kick off with Patsy and Edina waking up hungover in the empty drifting yacht of an oligarch in the middle of the ocean. Even worse, their cellphones can’t get a signal.” Sounds promising to us! The only catch is that Saunders is currently tied up writing the Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever. (This isn’t as random as it sounds; Saunders superfans will remember the Edina cameo in Spice World.) So, while the script won’t even be underway until next year, the news still calls for some celebration. Gin and tonics, perhaps?
