Today at Flavorpill, we looked at some of David Lynch’s best non-film projects. We fell in love with Lisa Hanawalt’s hilarious illustrations of “what dogs want” over on The Hairpin. We wondered why anyone would choose to paint their apartment walls a color called “Bromance” or “Porcelain Throne.” We listened to a new song from Marcel The Shell called “My Mother Got Lost In The Rug” — but don’t worry, it’s not about his mother. We bravely ventured inside of a top secret Soviet nuclear submarine underground base. We saw photographic proof that Beaker had a whole other life before he became one of the Muppets. We learned a quick, easy way to make flat champagne all kinds of bubbly again. We thought the new illustrated poster for Cameron Crowe’s We’ve Bought a Zoo was incredibly adorable, not to mention a nice change from what we normally see. We refused to believe that we should be eating more bugs. And finally, we wished that we could afford any of the costumes from The Big Lebowski that are going up for sale as part of Julien’s upcoming memorabilia auction. Can you imagine the looks you’d get walking down the street in one of the Nihilists’ bright red body stockings or Maude’s Viking getup?
