A 30-Yard-Long Collage Built Inside a Dumpster

Collage artist Mac Premo had a very simple premise for starting his Dumpster Project. He was moving to a smaller studio and needed to lighten his load, so he decided to catalogue the objects in his space (his video explanation past the break informs us that’s around 400 things) and created one giant collage … in a dumpster. Refusing to unceremoniously toss his stuff in the trash — the one that actually gets hauled away, at least — Premo wanted to exhibit the objects he’s gathered as he feels the things we collect and keep play an important role in the way we define ourselves. We agree. Check out a few images from Premo’s Dumpster Project (it travels!), and vow to never appear on an episode of Hoarders. Ever.
