Those who watched last night’s American Horror Story finale might well wonder how showrunner Ryan Murphy is planning to approach Season 2, considering, well, that he didn’t leave himself much to work with. Thankfully, he’s already satisfied our curiosity, announcing that not only will lead actors Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott leave the show, but none of the characters will be returning next year. “The second season of the show will be a brand new home or building to haunt,” Murphy told reporters in a conference call this afternoon. “It will also have a new overriding theme.” Note that this doesn’t mean all of the actors will be replaced — some of them are coming back as completely new characters. Although Murphy won’t say who’s staying, we’ve got our fingers crossed that Jessica Lange and Taissa Farmiga are on the list. [via TVline]
