The idea of a celebrity inspiring a nail polish color is nothing that we haven’t seen before, but how about a 19th century literary icon doing the same thing? Well, that’s certainly more novel. The Dickensian Volume, a new collection from StrangeBeautiful, pays tribute to the work of Charles Dickens and the Brothers Grimm; heady stuff, but not all together surprising considering that Jane Schub, the RISD grad behind the indie nail polish line, has previously cited the Ettore Sottsass Red Valentine typewriter and Josef Albers color theory as among her inspirations. The colors, as you’d probably guess, are all dark and intense — a delightfully goth mix of matte and metallic variations on black. If you’re as eager to try them out as we are, grab a set for $85 at Treasure & Bond, a store which gives 100% of profits to charities benefiting children in NYC. [via The Moment]
