Today at Flavorpill, we discovered science’s plan to clone woolly mammoths. We discussed 15 things we’ll miss about Man Vs. Wild. We read Ingmar Bergman’s account of his conversation with Charlie Chaplin. We enjoyed a new TED lecture that combines educators and animators — this one is from Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame. We listened to Christopher Walken read Where the Wild Things Are. We met a kickass kid who loves Pi. We thought this hand-painted typographic experiment was hypnotizing. We broke glass with Total Recall. We were happy to see that Portlandia was renewed for a third season. We watched a library staircase become a live, interactive game board. We learned when to expect Community reruns on Comedy Central. We browsed a list of Duran Duran’s John Taylor’s top 10 Criterion titles. And finally, we considered falling asleep to this sound clip of Darth Vader breathing for 10 hours straight. It probably induces bizarre sleepwalking behavior like Ambien, but we’re willing to risk it.
