Bolivian TV Station IDs Lost Footage as Flight 447
12:23 pm Thursday Jun 25, 2009 by Caroline Stanley

A slightly dark news item for all of you Lost fans: Kottke.org reports that a Bolivian TV station “was duped into airing screencaps showing a plane crash from Lost thinking that it was the crash of Air France Flight 447 somehow photographed in widescreen from inside the plane.” Seriously guys, Matthew Fox should have been the tip off. OK, he’s not really in the grabs, but what makes this story funny is the fact that this chilling scene is exactly what pops into our minds anytime we’ve heard the words “plane crash” since watching the Lost pilot. Side note: Who exactly “duped” them into airing this footage anyway? J.J. Abrams?

Video of the gaff (which makes us wish our high school-level Spanish was better) after the jump.
