You may think the characters from your youth were always set in stone, but of course we know that’s not so. Over at Lists of Note, we spotted this list of 47 possible dwarf names brainstormed by the Disney writing team while working on the studio’s 1937 adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — and as you might expect, some of them are a little bizarre. As you may or may not remember, the eventual dwarves were called Bashful, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy — plus Doc, who was apparently named separately, being the leader and all. Those are all appropriately silly indeed, but we can’t help but imagine what a different film it might have been if the dwarves were named Awful, Baldy, Dirty, Strutty, Deafy, Flabby and Biggo-Ego.
