A Peek at Martin Scorsese’s Storyboards for ‘Taxi Driver’

It’s always fascinating to see the early stages of a project, especially when that project has been an integral and much-lauded part of pop culture for so many years that it’s difficult to ever imagine it not existing. At least, that’s how we felt when we stumbled across these excerpts from Martin Scorsese’s storyboards for the climactic scene in his classic 1976 film Taxi Driver, complete with dialogue (though we have to admit, we can’t really decipher his handwriting), things crossed out, and all the blood drawn in with red pen — including the blood in the iconic shot of DeNiro with his finger to his head. Because in any storyboard, it’s most important to know the direction in which the blood will spray.
