New York City-based Anglophiles and record geeks, allow us to make your day: Rough Trade is opening a store in Williamsburg this fall! And that’s not the end of the good news. Billboard reports that the Brooklyn branch will be even larger than London’s Rough Trade East, which happens to be the biggest record store in all of Europe. The new location won’t just be selling albums, either — as part of a partnership with local über-bookers Bowery Presents, it will also be hosting in-store performances. Meanwhile, American music lovers who don’t live in New York can look forward to the launch of roughtrade.com in the US, where it will offer both physical and digital sales, as well as a subscription service. Well, as our friends across the pond might say, color us chuffed.
