Painterly Portraits of Iconic Movie Characters

Share:

We’ve been fans of Rhode Island-based artist Rich Pellegrino for a while, having featured several of his works in shows hosted by fellow pop culture fiends, Gallery 1988. Website houhouhaha recently reminded us of how awesome the artist’s iconic movie character paintings are, and we thought it seemed like a perfect time to share more of Pellegrino’s work with you. His illustration-style portraits set amongst painterly backgrounds are loaded with lively textures and frenzied markmaking, capturing the spirit of each pop culture personality. Organic caricatures of The Dude, Doc Brown, Willy Wonka, and Steve Zissou await you past the break. Visit Rich’s website for more info on how to own one of these lovelies, and check out his blog for a closer look at his artmaking process.
