If ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Was a Modern Autobiographical Web Series

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” Or at least, so says the bright pink t-shirt that Lizzie Bennet’s mom got for her and her sisters for Christmas in “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries,” a new webseries in which Jane Austen’s most famous heroine, now a modern day grad student with a camera and an internet connection, tells you all about her life in true confessional fashion. Filled with appearances by characters you know and love (Charlotte! Lydia! Jane! Bing Lee!) and charming, super meta in-jokes (Charlotte’s mom and Lizzie’s mom met at a Sense and Sensibility book club), but still getting its bearings a bit, we’re excited to see where this series goes.
