Scott Sheidly’s “Fabulous” Pink Tyrants

Have you ever thought that history’s most notorious figures could be improved if they were a little more, well, fabulous? In Scott Sheidly’s Portraits: a series of “fabulous” depictions of tyrants, dictators and popes, which is on view through May 20th at the ArtPadSF fine art fair in San Francisco, presented by the Spoke Art Gallery, he tarts up Stalin, Kim Jong-il, Hitler, and the Pope with hot pink accessories, flashy purple leopard print, and of course, unicorn bling. Because there’s a flashy teenage girl in all of us, and especially in these guys. Click through to see what Hitler looks like in a pink cape, and then be sure to head over to Sheidly’s website to check out even more of his work.

I agree with Doug "Hey Scott…What about Moammar Gadhafi, Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin, Bashar Al-Asad, etc, etc…" he may not of been defending christianity (and i dont know if he was) but i think it's kinda fucked up that you put a loving caring pope instead of the wide selection of tyrants you had. I also agree with Dan "Instead of Pope John Paul, he should have used any of the pre-rennaisance European Popes who were actual corrupt dictators & criminals" and as for Derek Pearce, no that pope wasn't an "anti-gay bigot" he was actually very tolerant of most anything. And that's the thing with most atheist (from what i've seen atleast) you talk about how religion is bad and how it's corrupt and peace and shit but as soon as you're done talking about peace, you attack christianity. I'm not saying all atheists do, but a lot of them do it! It's fine with me that your atheist (if you are) i believe in co-existance, but before you call somone an "anti-gay bigot" do your fucking homework dipshit fuckface! But that's your opinion and your entitled to it. Just don't be a dumbass Derek Pearce

The Pope doesn't represent all Christians, so it's not "anti-Christian" bigotry to paint him in a new light. Anyhow, Pope = anti-gay bigot, so what do you expect? Fair is fair.

Hey Scott...What about Moammar Gadhafi, Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin, Bashar Al-Asad, etc, etc...

Putting Pope among others is some bad joke.

This is possible the best thing I've seen!

That's Kim Jong-Il, not Chairman Mao.... may wanna fix the tags.
