The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas Goes Solo

That’s right folks, Julian Casablancas, the lead singer of The Strokes, is now the fourth Stroke to hop onto the solo bandwagon. Currently putting the finishing touches on his new album, Phrazes for the Young, Casablancas has eight new songs at the ready. He will follow the success of fellow bandmates Fabio Moretti (Little Joy), Albert Hammond Jr. as well as the (rather unfortunate) project of Nikolai Fraiture, Nickel Eye. Album preview after the jump!

We still think five Strokes are better than one, but this synth-tinged video has our hopes up for Casablancas. [via PS]
