Starting today, The Public Art Fund brings Franz West‘s large-scale aluminum sculpture The Ego and the Id to Central Park. As the Vienna-born artist once said, “I like art in the streets; it doesn’t demand that you make a special journey to see it, it’s simply there,” so this is the perfect venue for his work. On a related note, if you missed our interview with Richard Woods earlier in the week about his Public Art Fund project down at City Hall, you should check it out now.
