Art director and designer Marc Shur — whose work we first noticed on Design You Trust — inadvertently started his vintage sign photo series as a way to hit the road during some downtime. Eventually the number of trips increased, and Shur found himself realizing a longtime fascination with California’s past and the worn aesthetic of the mid-century signs he discovered during his travels. Check out some incredible signs from old motels, bizarre lodges, cocktail lounges, and other vintage goodies from the Golden State.
