Aesthetically, people can’t help but be drawn to symmetry; it has been scientifically proven that it’s just more attractive to the human eye. This might explain why we’re so taken with Gustav Willeit’s mirrored images of strange, tiny islands, dramatic cliffs, and gorgeous, deserted beaches in his surreal photo series Perspe, as spotted by Visual News. The fact that these locations don’t really exist — or at least, not in the way that we’re seeing them — makes the Italy-based photographer’s digitally manipulated work all the more magical in our opinion.
