Today at Flavorpill, we loved this collaboration between Japanese beatboxer Hikakin and Cali-based dancer Nonstop. We read the inevitable barrage of Tweets about moving to Canada because of ObamaCare. We got teary over Tom Hanks’ tribute to Nora Ephron. We said happy birthday to Mel Brooks. We learned about an Art Healing Ministry. We enjoyed William Blake’s illustrations for Edward Young’s Night Thoughts. We explored Hollywood mysteries with Rookie. We learned about a few Joss Whedon films we’ll probably never get to see. We spotted a tarot card deck that rejected the gender binary, referenced political movements, and quoted riot grrl music. We met yesterday’s New York City beauty queens today. And finally, we browsed Jason Polan’s drawings of “every person in New York.” So far the artist has captured everyone from Yoko Ono to hot dog vendors and cab drivers. Follow the ongoing project on his blog.
