“As far as Greta knew, there was nothing in the sky that night.” So begins a new short story by Molly Ringwald — yes, the very same one who won our hearts in Pretty in Pink, now appears in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and recently learned that the kids call ecstasy “Molly” in her honor. Ringwald is serializing her short story, “The Harvest Moon,” this week on FiveChapters.com. The psychologically dense tale follows a family setting out to witness the titular elusive astronomical event. Read the first two installments here, and if you enjoy it, make sure to get your hands on Ringwald’s When It Happens to You: A Novel in Stories, which comes out August 14th. [via GalleyCat]
