Gallery: ‘Star Wars’ Recast as an ’80s Teen Movie

Share:

Imagine, for a second, that it was John Hughes who directed the Star Wars movies, and instead of being set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, they took place in the hallways of a high school back in the ’80s. Italian comic artist Denis Medri has created a series of drawings that turn this crazy concept into a brilliant reality; from his casting of Palpatine as an evil principal and Yoda as a tracksuit-wearing gym teacher to Darth Vader as the leader of an evil motorcross gang and Luke (channeling Marty McFly from Back to the Future) and Leia as the coolest kids in school, there’s plenty to enjoy in his reimagined version of the trilogy. Click through our slideshow of his funny sketches, which we spotted thanks to io9, and let us know in the comments if you’d watch a film version of this madness.
