Despite years of office jobs, there’s one fairly basic thing we’ve never managed to pick up: Microsoft Excel. Oh, sure, we can fake it, making very basic spreadsheets and updating already existing ones. But ask us to do anything fancy and we fail, hard. So perhaps we’re even more delighted than we should be with this minute-long stop-motion music video created entirely in Excel spreadsheets. YouTube’s MysteryGuitarMan takes workday procrastination to a new level, transforming each square of the grid into a colored pixel, then scrolling through a mind-boggling number of sheets to make the electronic equivalent of a flip book that shows him rocking out on an array of instruments. At least, we’re fairly sure that’s what’s going on here. Anyway, we’re impressed.
