At first glance, the casual observer might just take these gorgeous photos, which we recently spotted over at Faith is Torment, for brilliantly shot images of real Brazilian favelas — until they looked a little closer. In these amazing works, Spanish artist Dionisio González re-imagines Brazil’s poorest urban dwellings by creating photo mashups of contemporary urban spaces, collaging together enormous shanty towns in front of bright blue skies. We could get lost in the details of these for hours. Click through to see a few of González’s works, and then be sure to head over to his website for many more.
