Breathtaking Augmented Photographs of Arctic Wonderlands

Share:

Canadian artist Sarah Anne Johnson, whose work we recently spotted over at iGNANT, created her breathtaking photo series Arctic Wonderland after completing an artist’s residency on a double-masted schooner in the Arctic Circle. Having photographed some of the most naturally beautiful and untouched places in the world, Johnson augmented the photos using ink, scratching into the prints, and screenprinting, among other things. “I do this to create a more honest image,” she explains. “To show not just what I saw, but how I feel about what I saw.” The result is truly wondrous.
