It’s a good sign that everything we hear about the new season of Arrested Development is exciting, from John Slattery’s recurring role to the confirmation that the entire original cast is on board. Today, a Rolling Stone interview with David Cross brings even more promising news. Although fans had been expecting a ten-episode season, Cross says, “I think it’s going to be 13 episodes, not 10. There’s too much story. Some characters will have two-parters. Everybody sort of participates, sometimes in a bigger way and sometimes in a tiny little thread that goes through everybody else’s stories.” He also tells the magazine that Mitch Hurwitz’s story line for Season 4 is “so layered” that “this has never been done on a TV show like this. This makes Lost look like a Spaulding Grey monologue. You’ll have to watch each episode more than once.” No one has to convince us to marathon the new episodes as soon as they go live on Netflix next year, but these little revelations sure are adding to the anticipation.
