25 Amazing Tattoos Inspired by Children’s Movies

[Editor's note: It's Labor Day, so your devoted Flavorwire team is taking a break. To keep you entertained, we're leaving you with our most popular features of the summer months. This post originally ran August 24th.] An extremely worn VHS copy of The Goonies. A beloved E.T. doll that you’ve held onto since the ’80s. A delightful poster of Jareth, the Goblin King, that once hung above your bed. All of the above would indicate that you’re a devoted fan of these children’s classics, but they’re the kind of thing that you usually found lurking in the back of a closet, tucked away and forgotten in a dusty corner. For some people, that’s simply not enough; they want to proudly (and permanently!) display their fandom directly on their bodies. Whether you grew up on repeated viewings of Bambi or prefer more recent kid’s flicks like Up!, we think you’ll agree that the 25 tattoos we’ve rounded up here make quite a statement. Click through to check them all out, and if you happen to have some children’s movie-inspired ink, please tell us about it in the comments!

Sorry to be picking nits here, but this is a pet peeve: It's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", not "the grinch Who stole Christmas"

Mary Poppins is my favorite. Simple, clear, iconic, unmistakable.

Some of these are absolutely lovely. Others... eh not so much.

@Hachidori - i remember now. these were the creature from the boiler room.. :) okay.

These are not even good quality renderings... As fun and endearing as these movies are, the tat's on this article are just terrible!

@cloudcumulus: Nope - the suswatari in the tattoo are holding pieces of kompeito, the hard sugar candy Lin feeds them.

Wonka looks way too much Liam Neeson

Willy Wonka and Jessica Rabbit are SO bad.

Can not wait til I open my tattoo removal clinic. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when these asshats come for session after session of painful removal treatments.

Actually some of these are pretty amazing. Love the one of Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

tatoo 24 is from my neighbor totoro

Tattoos are retarded, and nothing will ever make me change my mind.

What, exactly, makes these amazing?! If they were on a canvas would you say the same? Doubt it. There are far more creative and artfully executed tattoos.

That's a whole lot of copyright infringement there.

Replace the rednecks with hipsters in the movie Idiocracy and this is what you'll get.

My daughter has a scene from The Nightmare Before Christmas on one of her legs. The tattoo artist in Clarksville, Indiana who did it was so proud of it, she put it on her page. surprise someone else hasn't got Jack as a tat.
