We’ve all seen videos where characters are manipulated into “singing” some song or other, and to be honest, we’re usually not big fans — it’s clever, but it generally just seems like a lot of work for a jagged, hard-to-listen-to result. But this time, we’re hooked: British stand-up comic Richard Sandling’s alternative music video for Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” created from clips from seasons one through four of Mad Men, is completely infectious and charming, and cute enough for multiple viewings. A few thoughts: Peggy definitely has the best “singing” voice, Don would be horrified by this, and it’s a good thing everyone always has dessert.
