Nicki Minaj is about to own reality TV. If Perez Hilton is to be believed, not only is the rapper/pop star a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol, but she’s also getting her own E! reality series. Citing “sources close to Her Minajesty,” Perez reports that Minaj has already begun filming the show. That’s all we know so far, and it’s enough to pique our attention — who doesn’t wonder what such an outsize personality is like off the stage or red carpet? Mostly, though, we can’t help wondering whether this reality TV double booking has the potential to get meta. Will E! capture her on the set of Idol? Will the Fox and cable camera operators implode if they get too close to each other? Will we eventually just have the option to pay Nicki Minaj directly for a 24-hour live-streamed POV shot from a camera mounted in her wig? Because we might consider that.
