As much as we love typewriters here at Flavorpill, we have to admit that, though beautiful, they’re a little anachronistic in a modern workspace. But then again maybe not — in any case, there are still people using them, and therefore, by necessity, people fixing them. In this wonderful video, created by Form Follows Function to kick off the web series A Different LA, we learn about Jesse Flores, who started fixing typewriters in 1962, and his son, who now keeps his dad’s business going. It’s fascinating not only to hear about the lives of this family, but to hear them talk about the speed of modern technology, and how many people are turning back to old machines for both form and function. Watch the video after the jump, and let us know what you think in the comments.
