In our ongoing fascination with the collaboration between David Byrne and St. Vincent, we’re thrilled to find this eight-minute video from their final rehearsal before the Love This Giant tour. NPR Music takes us behind the scenes to see Annie Clark curled up into a ball onstage, Byrne practicing his “cross-country skiing” arm motions, and tease each other like old friends. We also meet the woman responsible for their unusual moves, choreographer Annie-B Parson. Aside from the obvious — that it’s always fun to watch Byrne dance — the video is worth watching for both its beautiful cinematography and its insight into how two famously excellent performers arrange and interpret their music for an audience of thousands.
