Has CBS stopped catering to the geriatric demographic, or is everyone who actually remembers when Kurt Cobain was alive officially old? It’s got to be one of those two options, because The Big Bang Theory writer/producer Dave Goetsch is developing a family comedy — yes, that’s right, a family comedy — called Smells Like Teen Spirit. In a premise that will be immediately depressing to anyone who grew up in the grunge era, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the show revolves around a young genius who skips a Harvard education to found an Internet company with the help of his “1990s indie-rock parents.” Cue the latest round of think pieces about online entrepreneurship as the new DIY, eh?
