After Hurricane Sandy wreaked its watery havoc on New York City this week, wide swaths of the big city were left without any of their bright lights. Photographer Randy Scott Slavin, whose surreal 360-degree landscapes we’ve featured before, took to the streets with his tripod, taking long-exposure photographs that juxtapose the frantic lights of the cars with the eerie stillness of the surrounding buildings. The resultant series, entitled NYC Unplugged, which we spotted over at PetaPixel, is as beautiful as it is ominous. Click through to see a little light in the darkness, and then head here to check out even more from Slavin’s series.
