Look, we loved ’90s sitcom Boy Meets World as much as the next awkward preteen, but there’s no convincing us that this is a good idea. TV Line reports that the Disney Channel is working on a follow up series to the show, entitled Girl Meets World and centering on Cory and Topanga’s young daughter. Because, as you might remember, Cory and Topanga got married at the show’s end, some twelve years ago, so it actually kind of makes sense that they’d have a preteen daughter by now. If they were real people, that is. No word yet on whether Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are willing to reprise their roles, a decision that will probably make or break the project. After all, without Cory and Topanga, why not just develop a whole new show about a young girl? Actually, scratch any qualification — why not just develop a whole new show? [via THR]
