Today at Flavorpill, we remembered several Nickelodeon toys most people probably forgot about. We found out what Lil Wayne vs. Rent sounds like. We enjoyed The Onion’s 1990s-riffic BuzzFeed ribbing. We practiced a series of bets that are proven winners. We loved seeing all the cute pups and kitties in this Keep and Bon Iver video, filmed at a family-owned avocado farm that also houses rescued animals. We wanted to move to this Frank Lloyd Wright heart-shaped island. We got the scoop on a Firefly episode that never was. We went back and watched all the Skyfall production video blogs to revisit some of the movie’s best scenes. We read The Rumpus’ interview with Nanette Vonnegut, Kurt’s daughter. We saw Venice, Italy under water. We spotted the world’s first 3D photo booth prints that create personal, miniature action figures. We discovered the Oxford American Dictionaries’ 2012 word of the year. We learned about 10 boundary-breaking artists featured at Paris Photo. And finally, we looked back at 10 Sesame Street performances that need more love. Cab Calloway, Johnny Cash, and Richard Pryor are just a few of the famous faces that made those TV moments special.
