Do you ever step into a bookstore and find yourself overwhelmed by the selection? Everything looks interesting, but you’ve only got a few dollars in your pocket. Well, if you live in Toronto, The Monkey’s Paw has a wonderful solution: the Biblio-Mat, a vending machine lovingly hand-constructed by the used bookstore’s owner, Stephen Fowler, and his friend Craig Small. Feed it $2 and the pulley system-operated machine will dispense a random title for your reading pleasure. Click through to see the Biblio-Mat in action, and read more about the project — which we hope will be coming soon to a bookstore near us — at NPR.
