Crazy Aerial Photos of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

We know, we know. It’s been a week. By this point, you’ve already made your way through all of your turkey leftovers and various pie/casserole situations lurking in your fridge. But we’ve got one final Thanksgiving-related treat for you to enjoy: We just discovered these very cool aerial shots of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade snapped by Brooklyn-based photographer Navid Baraty from 30 stories up in the air. “I grew up watching the parade on Thanksgiving morning with the family and it was my first time seeing it in person,” he told My Modern Met. “It’s crazy how small it all seemed from high above when you’re so used to seeing how giant the balloons look on TV that appear to be towering up into the buildings.” He’s right, the dramatic shift in perspective makes the strange — if familiar — visuals of the balloons floating their way down 6th Avenue even more surreal than it normally is.
