If you were hoping that post-30 Rock, Alec Baldwin would turn publicly bashing New York’s tabloids into a full-time career, we’re sorry to disappoint you. Deadline reports that the actor has signed a two-year deal with Universal Television that will allow him to develop and produce series projects for the studio, “including potential new starring vehicles for him.” (If you remember, Tina Fey recently made a similar agreement with NBC, only her contract is for four years.) Since Baldwin has spent the better part of the past few years threatening to quit acting, we’re going to assume that he’s planning to take on more of a behind-the-scenes role rather than fronting his own series. Perhaps we should take this is as a sign that he’s no longer interested in running for mayor?
