Flavorwire Makes History and Blogs from 35,000 Feet

3

Join Flavorwire, Virgin America and a handful of random YouTube celebrities 35,000 feet high in the skies on Twitter right now — as in, we’re live blogging from a plane. And it’s totally legal. This mile-high party for a few lucky bloggers and industry VIPs marks the first time that airline customers have been able to use WiFi in flight.

Relax, you’ll be able to experience the service firsthand when you fly Virgin in the second quarter of next year.

Connexion by Boeing was doing wi-fi for several airlines back in 2005-2006. So much for that factchecking. Also, is this an editorial post or a shameless plug for an advertiser?

Sorry Bob, you're right.

Here's the "historical" part: Virgin America launched the Gogo Inflight Internet service on the Nov. 22 beta flight with the first-ever live, air-to-ground video-stream — broadcasting to millions of people at the YouTube Live event in San Francisco and viewers online.

And you are correct, fact checking goes out the window when you've got 30 minutes to blog in the skies and champagne is involved – so thank you for setting me straight.

I'm putting up some photos later that I hope you'll find funny/interesting.
