John had some great gams.

interesting 2nd generation popstar parallel: madonna's daughter lourdes recreated her "like a virgin" look: http://www.popeater.com/2009/09/02/madonnas-daugh… once rumer willis gets pregnant, we can surely expect an update of demi's famous vanity fair cover

Ew. I really hope not.

haha Caroline your first comment made me LOL

Covering her nipple is ridiculous. 2009, you remember?

That girl is one botched plastic surgery after another

The new "version" misses the point of the original completely. John Lennon was probably the most famous person of his time, certainly more so than Yoko. But in the famous pic he was almost subservient to Yoko with him being naked and in the fetal position holding her. In lot of ways this says a lot about his love her, that the most famous man alive would humble himself for the woman he loves.

Where as the position is reversed. But more importantly the feeling of love is replaced with lust/sexiness.

I think that is the point.

[...] – Sean Lennon has recreated the iconic image of his father and Yoko Ono for Purple Magazine. The shot, which was taken by Terry Richardson, has Sean in Yoko’s position while model Kemp Muhl (who is also Lennon’s girlfriend) curls up naked on his side. You can view the picture here (NSFW) and vote for whether you think this was a good idea over at Flavorwire. [...]

She hasn't had any plastic surgery. Surprisingly (for today's time), her face and body are completely natural–even those lips. I wish we had more models like that. Actually, it seems like the media's helping get rid of the photo shop and plastic surgery craze. Well…. hopefully. :::fingers crossed:::

i'm with branden. and if that is the point, then it is even more lame.

I think he's just riding his father's coat tails all the way through to wherever it will take him.
And I don't mean that pejoratively.
I think he's doing it right, I mean if my dad was John Lennon I probably would to to a degree, it's almost like a royal inheritance.

I agree with Branden too. In the original John was making himself vulnerable, like a child to her and Yoko looks serene and authoritative, like a mother. The female/male role reversal of authority, power etc is what makes it so striking and tender.
Plus, it disregards traditional roles which was something important and beautiful about their era.

This new one is only really nice in an erotic but boring way (if a nude doll-like girl smooching up to a slightly disinterested, clothed man is what does it for you). The lady is trying to seduce the man. Whoop de doo.
If Lennon jr. was with a woman who was more than a pretty face to the world, maybe they could do this shoot together as a real tribute, but I think it's kinda cheap.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. First of all, it's his decision and his right to do it. Second, I don't think it's distasteful in any way. And lastly, I kind of like it even if her nipple doesn't show. (that's not a sexist comment, I'm referring to its artistic quality.)

Thank you! Exactly! So glad there are still people who see clearly what is obvious instead of being conditioned to blindness by media, society, and the mindless majority.

Am I the only person that is shocked by the fact that Sean has a GIRLfriend? Seriously, I thought that he was gay?!? I saw his interview on The View today and I'm still not convinced that he's straight. Personally, I don't care if he's one or the other but I was just taken back by the fact that the girl in the picture is supposedly his girlfriend. Who told Yoko that she can sing? Seriously, that performance on The View was awful. It was like hearing your grandmother sing at church, blah!!!

Thanks for making the trustworthy effort to discuss this. I feel very sturdy approximately it and wish to read more. If it’s OK, as you acquire extra intensive knowledge, might you thoughts including more articles similar to this one with additional information? It might be extraordinarily helpful and useful for me and my friends.

Good day, I simply hopped over for your site by way of StumbleUpon. Not one thing I would typically learn, but I appreciated your feelings none the less. Thanks for making something value reading.

I think it must be hard for Sean, having lost his father at such a young age and in such a violent way. I think whatever direction he needs to take in to feel connected to his father is OK with me.
