This freshly-posted clip from Up in the Air just taught us a new word: faumey (faux + homey). As Vulture reports, the film has won glowing reviews at Telluride — the same festival that launched Slumdog Millionaire‘s slow but steady ascent to the Oscars — and “might be the timeliest, most zeitgeist-capturing movie released this awards season.” Reitman’s previous film, Juno, was nominated for four Academy Awards, and the last feature that he both adapted and directed, Thank You for Smoking, won him an Independent Spirit Award. We’ve never seen a conversation about frequent flier miles look as sexually charged as this exchange between George Clooney and Vera Farmiga. What do you think? Does this one have potential?
