Intricately Sculpted “Paintings” Made of Electrical Cables

Share:

Colombian artist Federico Uribe is clearly influenced by famous painters (Van Gogh instantly comes to mind) but is using that inspiration to create something we haven’t seen before: sculptures made of electric and A/V cables, constructed to look like paintings. Using cords of all colors and every part of the cable, Uribe plays with texture and shading, adding dimension to the faces and objects he depicts in a series aptly named Contectado. Many of these works extend beyond the boundaries of the canvas, giving the viewer an invitation to observe and explore. Browse our gallery of Uribe’s work, which we discovered via Colossal, below, and head to his website to see more awe-inspiring pieces.
